Viewing E-Discovery Through the Corporate Veil

Press Release: The Masters Conference Names Sasha Hefler as President

The new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that were implemented this past December 1st ignited more than new parameters pertaining to discovery of ESI, but a flurry of literature, blogs, postings, cases, and, yes, conferences that speak to making sense of what all these rules really mean an how it will truly affect the practice, support and preparation of legal matters.  More surprising than the influx of educational material are the statistics that show that many legal professionals are not aware of the Federal Rules or choose to believe that the rules do not apply to them or that someone else is handling the issue.  Unfortunately, ignorance is not bliss and with the rise of technology, we are forced to make the decision to keep up or be slapped with severe consequences…often the million dollar kind.  The Masters Conference is here to help.

The idea of the Masters Conference was formed to provide a new avenue for learning about E-Discovery that did not entail being one of the thousands.  It is our vision to keep things simple…E-Discovery is complicated enough.  Our mission is to have speakers, vendors and attendees work as a unit; speakers educate on the rules and how they translate into practice, vendors develop solutions to fit the needs arising from ESI requirements and attendees marry their new knowledge and solutions into implementation (perhaps even best practices).  The problem is how this trifecta can work when educational conferences are on such a large scale.  Speakers cannot be as engaging with the audience, the audience feels bombarded with a sea of vendor booths, and vendors do not even have an opportunity to interact with educators that my parlay as catalysts for new solutions.  While vendors and speakers may be synonymous with one another, the Masters Conference is of the mind set that we are all in the same sphere of influence and collaboration is the key.  We hope that this is the experience you get with our conference series.

The next conference, "Viewing E-Discovery Through the Corporate Veil" will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building on October 16-17, 2008.  Continue to check this site for all further developments.
